Korin Ogata was a pioneer who created a painting school which was good at decorative large screens called "Rin ha" in later years, and was one of the leading figures of the mid Edo period. The extraordinary design sense gave birth to the word "Korin pattern", and the influence on Japanese paintings, crafts, and designs until today is unknown.
